NHS v BUPA

Well how a week can change your expectations.

Start of the week I was preparing to going into hospital for major surgery, then BUPA call us to say that the operation is off due to my surgeon being taken ill. On arrival at home a letter from North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) has arrived dated two days earlier, next day the NHS call me to confirm the operation is off and that the operation will be re-scheduled probably sometime in April, no firm date.

So the next step, contact BUPA at this time we are waiting for a response from my consultant at The Christie, to recommend another surgeon.

I am very scared at this time, it is the first time in my life that I will have had surgery and the delay is making me nervous.

My bags are packed and I am ready to go anywhere in Europe for my operation, the not knowing will hopefully be over soon and I can get back on track mentally.

Unusual for me but I am taking a few days off work to rest and get my head straight. Work has its challenges at the moment, some people have left and their work is having to be picked up. We will get there guys:O)

Moving on, good result for Manchester United in the week. F1 is back and I watch the qualifying today, new format to the racing, no re-fuelling, brand new teams, very exciting prospects.
